It was very cold that night in January.  We were looking out from the road along some coastline and I remember being disappointed that I couldn't see very far into the water.  You sat there quietly looking into the storm that was approaching when you made some rude comment about the tow truck we had been waiting about an hour for.

We decided it was best to stay in the car after I had pointed out some strange shapes that sat just beyond the fog on the beach. You tried to convince me that these were just rocks but I'm fairly certain you weren't even sure of that yourself.  The silhouettes reminded me of these two old toys that grandma had displayed in the window, except they were about the size of a person.  I swear I could even make out the shape of one of the character’s faces.

I can’t remember how long we waited in that car before we got picked up.
